Grundon Waste Management has acquired Lancing-based Rabbit Waste Management’s commercial waste operations, enabling it to more than double the size of its collection fleet across East and West Sussex.
The acquisition, which takes effect from 1 February, has seen Grundon purchase the business and assets of Rabbit’s trade waste division.
Grundon will now relocate operations, including Rabbit’s drivers and customer service employees from the trade waste division, to its depot in Ford, near Arundel.
Bradley Smith, sales & marketing director for Grundon, said: “We’re delighted with this acquisition and welcome the commercial and trade waste division of Rabbit Waste Management into the Grundon family.
“We have been established in the region since 2015 and this acquisition confirms our commitment to extending our services to the area and supports our long-term strategic growth plans.”
Greg Blurton, CEO for Rabbit Waste Management, said: “We had taken the trade waste business as far as we could and are delighted that along with our dedicated trade waste team it is moving to a good home at Grundon. We would like to thank all of our customers for their support and divesting this division will enable us to focus on our core skip business.”
