Grundon has been shortlisted for the Family Business of the Year Award in the prestigious Private Business Awards 2026.
Sponsored by BDO, the awards celebrate the best private or PE-based businesses in the UK, and the winners will be announced at a gala dinner in London on 10 September.
Founded in 1929, Grundon is the UK’s largest independent family-owned waste management company.

Now employing some 850 people – including fourth generation family members Grace and Alice Grundon – the waste management specialist owns and operates a raft of commercial waste facilities across the southern half of the UK.
This year, the Private Business Awards received over 700 nominations across 11 categories, with the shortlist selected by an expert judging panel of leading industry figures. Grundon was one of just six companies shortlisted in the family business category.
