Grundon Waste Management’s Special Events team celebrated with a sparkling night after winning the Bronze Supplier Award in the Best Supplier category at the prestigious Festival Supplier Awards 2018.
Peter Kent, Shaun Workman and Emma Tobin were on hand to collect the trophy from well-known TV and radio presenter Edith Bowman, a seasoned festival goer and author of Edith Bowman’s Great British Music Festivals.
Grundon’s entry highlighted its work at both CarFest South, held at Laverstoke Park Farm, Hampshire, which annually raises thousands of pounds for BBC Children in Need; and its support for the three-day British Grand Prix event at Silverstone, where Grundon has supplied waste management services for more than two decades.
The judges’ comments included: “Grundon’s dedication and commitment to excel in their field is evident, their services have gone far beyond traditional waste management to make a real impact in the industry.”
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, a delighted Peter Kent said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won such a top accolade and to celebrate it tonight in front of our industry peers and many of our supporters and customers was truly the icing on the cake.
“We always work hard to innovate, to look for new ideas and opportunities to help venues and events minimise their waste and improve in areas such as recycling. To have been recognised with such wonderful comments is very rewarding and thanks must go to all the team at Grundon for their ongoing hard work and support.”
The ceremony, held on 25 January at The Hurlingham Club in London, brings together organisers, promoters and suppliers from across the industry.
