They were up against more than 800 other nominations and the judges commented: “Ascot Racecourse practices year-round sustainability, partnering with Grundon Waste Management and Rockvolt. Noteable achievements by June 2023 include a 55% recycling rate, electric waste collection vehicles, and a 55.6% increase in recycling. These changes saved 126,560 kgs of CO2, equivalent to planting 641 trees.”

A second Grundon customer, Tower Bridge House, which marks the gateway to St Katherine’s Dock and Tower Bridge, was complimented on recent recycling measures, including increasing collections of dry mixed recycling, food waste, glass and coffee cups, and diverting non-recyclable waste from landfill.
