Transport Office Co-ordinator

Date 22/11/22

Location Colnbrook, Berkshire, United Kingdom

Grundon is growing and we now need an additional Transport Office Co-ordinator to cover a period of maternity leave at our Colnbrook depot, near Heathrow. In return for your office-based experience in transport operations, ability to engage with customers and calm-under-pressure personality, you could be joining us on a 15 month fixed term contract, earning a competitive salary and a host of great benefits.

About the Transport Office Co-ordinator role
Our busy transport offices are the nerve centres of our waste collection services and key to daily operations running smoothly. Colnbrook is one of our bigger depots, and as one of four Transport Office Co-ordinators, you will:

- Manage requests from initial order through to processing, liaising with customers and proactively dealing with complaints, always with the focus on providing excellent customer service.
- Use your scheduling/planning skills to prepare daily computerised routes for drivers and ensure they are thoroughly debriefed at the end of shifts.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential operational service failures, such as breakdowns, to minimise complaints.
- Record and input data to ensure accurate invoicing and minimal customer queries.

What we’re looking for in our Transport Office Co-ordinator
- Ideally, you have two years' office-based experience in transport operations, or a sound knowledge of the waste industry
- Competent computer skills, including databases (we’ll train you up on our computerised traffic system)
- Attention to detail
- Strong team player and confident communicator
- Ideally, you hold a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC). A full UK driving licence is essential
- Good local geographical knowledge

Working hours: 08.00am-5pm, Mon-Fri, plus one in three Sat mornings, 7am-11.30am - an average of 44 hours per week.
