Apprentice LGV Mechanic
Date 29/07/22
Location Colnbrook, near Slough
Are you ambitious, mechanically minded, love fixing things and have a passion for vehicles? Earn as you learn to become a fully qualified Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) Mechanic, part of a dedicated team that maintains Grundon's fleet of waste collection vehicles to a high standard. Under the supervision and guidance of our Workshop at Colnbrook, near Heathrow, combined with study at college (for 3 years), you will acquire the necessary skills and on-the-job training to achieve a Motor Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician (Heavy Vehicle) Apprenticeship Level 3. Interested? Starting salary is £246.16 per week (which will increase as you progress through your apprenticeship), plus a host of great benefits.
What will you be doing?
Our Workshops look after all vehicle issues, including daily defects and any breakdowns, servicing, maintenance and MOTs - all in place to support and ensure a smooth service and compliancy for our customers and operations.
Under the supervision and guidance of our experienced Workshop team, combined with online activities, webinars, tutorials and one full day a week for class and practical training at Langley College, you and a second apprentice (we have two vacancies) will acquire the skills and on-the-job training to achieve your apprenticeship, like the many Grundon apprentices who have gone before you.
On a day-to-day basis, as Apprentice LGV Mechanic you will help to prepare vehicles for workshop maintenance and assist with inspections, repairs and general maintenance of the fleet.
