Winners of the UK Fleet Champions Awards were announced at a glittering ceremony at New Dock Hall at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on 25 September.

More than 270 people from across the fleet sector gathered to see the winners and runners-up of 12 awards revealed, chosen by an independent panel of judges from across the fleet industry.

Grundon, which operates a fleet of around 575 vehicles – including commercial waste collection vehicles and company cars -was named as the organisation that has worked hardest to improve the safety and environmental impact of vehicles used on behalf of their business.

John Stephens, General Manager – Logistics, said: “We take investment in our vehicles and driver safety very seriously and we are proud and honoured to have won this prestigious award.

“We thank the judging panel for their recognition of the efforts we have made in these areas of our business and the whole team will look forward to continuing towards our goals.”

At the same event, Risk and Sustainability Director, Toni Robinson, was highly commended in the Road Risk Manager of the Year Award.

Toni’s award was given as a result of the road risk management policies implemented at Grundon.

“These awards matter not only because they celebrate success, but because they set standards. This year we have made the entry and judging process even more rigorous and we are delighted to recognise those organisations and individuals who are truly leading the way.”
