The management of waste from healthcare facilities is a complex and challenging one. Increasingly stringent legislation, rising costs and increasing hazards are just but some of the challenges faced world-wide.
The event, to be staged by the UK-based Healthcare Waste and Resources Group in conjunction with the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) will have as its keynote speaker Dr Raki Zghondi from the World Health Organisation. In addition, there will be presentations from internationally renowned speakers on a range of topics including biohazards, pharmaceutical waste, waste minimisation and finance.
During day two of this event delegates have the option of visiting two of Grundon’s sites specialising in the treatment of healthcare waste. The site visits will run parallel to the conference, so delegates may attend EITHER day two of the conference or the site visits. The organisers aim to have all delegates back to the conference venue for the final panel discussion.
