This week Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust launched a new fundraising event called ‘Jail & Bail’ that will take place on Wednesday, 16 September 2015 at Gloucester Cathedral.
Jail & Bail will see Gloucestershire’s leading business men and women jailed in the Cathedral. In order to escape from their jail they will need to raise £1,000 in bail money from their network of staff, friends and business colleagues.
Event organiser Lucy England said “This is a fun way to not only raise money for a local charity but those taking part will also have a great opportunity to network whilst they are in ‘jail! We are hoping that lots of people will sign up and we have put together a pack to make it really easy for those taking part to raise the money. ”
Amongst the first to sign up to take part is Daniel Peacey, business development manager for Grundon Waste Management, based at the company’s Cheltenham depot.
Speaking about the fundraising event Daniel commented, “I’m delighted to be taking part in the event. Grundon’s support for the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust goes back more than twenty years, and it is fantastic that we can continue to support the work that the Trust does for the environment and local communities in the county through fundraising events like this.”
Gloucester Cathedral’s Parliament Suite, which housed a Parliament in the 17th Century, will serve as a temporary jail on the day and inmates will be allowed use of their laptops and social media so they can raise money for their bail and freedom!
