Congratulations to three of Grundon Waste Management’s customers who have been shortlisted in the prestigious NHS Sustainability Awards 2019.
Both Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust have been named in the Clinical category, demonstrating clinical value in financial savings, improved working or reduced carbon, as well as gaining valuable input through improved working with clinical colleagues.
The Frimley Trust, which includes Frimley Park Hospital near Camberley, Wexham Park Hospital near Slough, and Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot, was also one of just five shortlisted entries in the Waste category, having shown big improvements and financial savings in the recycling and segregation of waste.
Shortlisted in the Staff Engagement category, London North West University Healthcare (LNWH) Trust, showcased its environmental awareness programmes, including Waste Awareness Days and the appointment of an on-site waste manager to promote training and best practice.
At the same time, Grundon was itself shortlisted in the category for Supplier of the Year, having demonstrated its waste management, financial and carbon reduction successes with a number of NHS Trusts.
Scott Williams Grundon’s Head of Contract Management, said: “Many congratulations to our Trust customers who work very hard to implement sustainable and practical measures to their waste management policies and procedures. We are delighted to see their efforts being recognised and wish them good luck for the awards evening.”
The awards celebrate organisations who have delivered active change and progress across the healthcare landscape to tackle carbon reduction, implement sustainable practices and improve the health of a nation; while also demonstrating engagement with the staff and the public.
The 2019 winners will be announced on 16 May at an awards evening at Leeds Civic Hall.Back to news
