Employee Testimonials...

"I find that because Grundon is a family company, you get treated as part of the family.

I have worked for the company since September 2001 and have had a few different roles before my current job - which involves supporting users across all of our depots and configuring new equipment to be used around the company. I built up to my current position by starting as a temp and then quickly becoming Contract Administrator then in June 2002 I became a member of the IT Department, and have built up my knowledge along the way.

The Company is currently providing financial support for me to attend college once a week, where I am taking the City & Guilds IT Practioner's System Support Level 3 course. I hope to repay Grundon for their support and encouragement by adding value to the business with my increased skills over the long career I have planned in IT."

Adam

"After 9 years of dealing with customer invoices and payments in the Invoicing and Credit Control Departments, I was looking for a different role and was lucky to be offered a job in Transport. Today I have a challenging role in a busy department, dealing with customer enquiries and ensuring that the drivers know what they are doing and when.

Grundon have been very helpful to me both professionally and personally and I think this is due to them being a family run company."

Claire

"I am now in my 4th Year of working for Grundon. I started in the Invoicing Department as an administrator and had the opportunity to join the Credit Control Department, which I enjoy very much. On a daily basis I deal with the allocation of Cash & Bacs customer queries and liaising with colleagues & customers, which is a very exciting and challenging role.

Grundon offers excellent benefits and support. You're not just a number you are a person I am privileged to be a part of the company."

Kelly

"In the late nineties I entered the Traffic Office as a Traffic Clerk. After a short time I was sent to Wadhurst in Kent to a F.T.A. Training School where I was taught all about Transport Law this enabled me to gain my Certificate Of Professional Competence.

None of this would have been possible thanks without the training courses that Grundon provided. They have a great policy with regard to internal promotion and make a point of giving people the chance to better themselves. Thanks."

Kim

"I joined S Grundon (Ewelme) Limited in 1997 as a Weighbridge Operator at the Chievely Quarry. I was soon asked to become the Safety Rep and also took on a First Aider's role following a full training course. The Company recognised my interest in Health & Safety and also my hard work and commitment and I was soon promoted to Quarry Foreman.

My present position is Relief Quarry Manager covering all quarries, which I enjoy very much. I have Employing Manager responsibilities, which means that I can recruit, promote and deal with discipline and grievance issues, and I am looking to progress further within the Company in the future."

Andrew

"Since starting at Grundon in 1983 as a mini-skip driver I moved within a year to drive a HIAB vehicle that is used for delivering green wheelie bins. The Company supported my training to obtain a LGV Class 2 licence, which enabled me to progress to driving ROLONOF vehicles, which I did for 10 years.

My ambition to drive an artic vehicle was realised when I gained my LGV Class 1 licence. This enabled me to drive all sorts of vehicles and I have now been driving an artic for the Technical Department for the past 2 years. During my 22 years with the Company I have seen many changes."
