Grundon Waste Management Ltd is able to provide a recycling service for most types of flammable solvents based wastes, including paints, inks, resins, adhesives and cleaning solvents.
Our hazardous waste transfer station at Ewelme, South Oxfordshire, is equipped with specialist "depack" equipment that enables the contents of small drums, tins and bottles to be removed, recovered and where possible recycled. In many cases the packaging can then also be recycled.
The majority of the flammable solvent bearing wastes are bulked together in the transfer station and then consigned in loads of approximately 22 tonnes to a specialist solvent recovery facility. The wastes are blended to a detailed specification and are used as a support fuel in the cement industry. This fuel has enabled the cement industry to dramatically reduce the quantity of coal used, thus preserving this resource for the future. This method therefore not only allows for waste to be recycled, but also preserves precious virgin materials.
Our transfer station is able to process all sizes of flammable waste containers i.e. 1ml to 1200ltr and even small tanker loads.
Our operational area for flammable waste collections covers most of the UK. All hazardous waste enquiries should be sent to the Technical Department, at the Ewelme depot:
