Fluorescent Tubes...

imageFluorescent tubes have recently been classified as hazardous wastes and must be segregated from the general waste stream. The WEEE Regulations will also require their recovery and recycling.

Grundon Waste Management Ltd offer a range of containers suitable for the on-site storage and transport of fluorescent tubes. All unbroken tubes are recycled. They are transported to one of our transfer stations where they are crushed under carefully controlled conditions. The waste then enters a component recovery process, enabling key constituents, such as the glass, aluminium end caps, copper components and the mercury phosphor to be separated and recycled.

Grundon can accept all types of lamps, including linear and compact tubes, sodium and mercury lamps. Suitable containers can be provided for more exotic lamps.
