New Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) Opening in April 2005
To fulfil the demand for recycling and waste management requirements in Surrey, Grundon Waste Management and Mole Valley District Council have formed a long-term partnership to build a cutting edge £3 million materials recovery facility (MRF) at Leatherhead. Opening in April 2005, its is the only one of its type in Surrey. This unique plant will enable district councils in Surrey, and local companies, to achieve their recycling targets. Capable of handling 40,000 TPA, the plant can sort cans, plastic, mixed paper, and cardboard by using technology developed by Grundon over many years.
Paul Faulkner, Area sales Manager, believes that Grundon can offer its Surrey customer the real opportunity to engage in meaningful recycling and waste management solutions by opening the plant.
"We intend to offer a range of services from this facility including our own vehicle collection fleet to service Surrey commerce. We have successful proven background in operating MRFs over many years in the South of England, we are in Surrey for the long term and intend to develop meaningful partnerships with people in the county".
