Spelthorne District Council

Grundon neighbours Spelthorne Borough Council, covering the Ashford and Staines areas, has recently introduced alternate weekly collections (AWC) for its householders. General waste is collected in the first week while mixed recyclables are collected in the second.

Spelthorne was particularly keen to include glass bottles and jars in its recyclables collection and the recent retrofitting of Grundon’s Colnbrook MRF to accept mixed glass facilitated this. The new contract will see in excess of 8,000 tonnes of mixed recyclables from Spelthorne processed through the Colnbrook MRF.
