Hazardous Waste Containers...

Chemsafe

Hazardous ImageThe Chemsafe units are available for storing packaged hazardous waste. Drop down shelves enable the safe and convenient storage of smaller items, such as laboratory chemicals or paint tins. All of them feature an integral sump to cope with any spillage or leak that may occur.

Grunsafe

Our 800 litre Grunsafes represent the ideal solution for storing hazardous solid waste, packaged liquids and aerosols on site. Once these are filled, their UN certification allows them to be readily exchanged with clean empty units. The full ones are transported to our Ewelme transfer station for processing and cleaning. This system enables packaging waste to be minimised, resulting in both financial and environmental benefits.

Fluorescent Tube Coffins

Hazardous ImageGrundon offer a range fluorescent tube coffins, with capacities from 100 to 4000 tubes. The 100 tube units are constructed of plastic and are light enough to be carried to where the tubes are produced. The larger units are more robust and constructed of metal. These are usually stored outside. Once the coffins have been filled, they can be exchanged, giving a permanent storage solution for these hazardous wastes.

Drums

Hazardous ImageThrough our extensive contacts with the packaging industry, we are able to supply almost every type of metal, plastic and fibreboard drums, for the storage and transportation of hazardous wastes. Our Technical Department will be able to advise on the most suitable drum to use and will ensure that it meets the required standards. Having a number of DGSAs in the Company enables Grundon to make sure that only suitable UN certified drums are supplied.

IBCs

For large volumes of liquids, on sites where waste storage tanks are unavailable, Grundon is able to supply 1000 litre Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs). These are the containers, used only for liquids that are equivalent to the 800 litre Grunsafes. Exchange IBCs which are clean and empty can be supplied when the full units are collected. Note: A forklift will be required on site for the loading and offloading of filled IBCs.

Battery Boxes

Hazardous ImageWith the ever-tightening controls on the storage of hazardous waste we have found an increasing need to supply dedicated storage containers. These include battery boxes, with lids, used for the collection and storage or wet batteries e.g. lead acid vehicle batteries or nickel cadmium back up power units.

Wheelied Bins

Hazardous ImageWe can also supply specially adapted containers, for instance special wheeled bins for the storage and transportation of part full oil tins. Once filled all of these containers can be exchanged for clean, decontaminated units, keeping the need for new packaging to a minimum.
