Haz-Box

Haz-Box - The Nationwide, Small Volume Hazardous Waste Collection Service


 

Haz-Box is a nationwide, A cost effective solution enabling you to manage your small quantities of hazardous waste in full compliance with legislation, whilst also maximising resource recovery.

We will supply you with 55 litre lidded plastic boxes for the storage of your mixed hazardous waste. Following a pre-determined collection schedule, your Haz-Box will be emptied and the waste segregated on-site within our collection vehicle. The items will then be taken to our Hazardous Waste Transfer Station near Wallingford, South Oxfordshire for recovery and wherever possible recycling of the materials.

What hazardous waste items are accepted and can be collected in a Haz-Box?

The following items can be placed in the Haz-Box, although care must be taken to avoid mixing incompatible substances:

 

  • Acid descalers
  • Adhesives
  • Aerosols
  • Batteries
  • Caustic Soda
  • Cleaning chemicals
  • Contaminated rags wipes and absorbents
  • Inks
  • Oil tins
  • Oil filters
  • Paints
  • Photo chemicals
  • Resins
  • Small Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
  • Solvents
  • Thinners
  • Toners

Please note that individual items placed into the Haz-Box must not exceed 5 kilograms/litres. Larger items such as computer monitors, fridge, freezers, drummed oils and fluorescent tubes may be collected if placed alongside your Haz-Box, however this will incur an additional charge.
