Landscaping Materials and Products

As a leading supplier to the landscaping sector, at Grundon we recognise your desire to create landscapes that are beautiful yet practical, aesthetically pleasing yet durable.

We have refined our product portfolio to ensure that we offer you and your customers the finest hard landscaping materials available.

Landscaping Products

We offer a range of blended soils/composts and topsoils, screened at 10, 20 and 30mm.

From our quarries across the South and East of England we offer a wide range of shingles, including our popular black and white Moonstone Flint, and our Golden shingle. These are graded at 6, 10, 12, 20 and 40mm, which makes them ideally suited to applications such as pathways and drives.

Path gravels

Grundon is home to the exclusive Coxwell self-binding gravel, which is used extensively to create hard-wearing and naturally beautiful pathways. Coxwell self-binding path gravel, which has a unique golden/amber colour, is easy to lay and requires little or no maintenance. Coxwell path gravel matures to provide a strong, natural appearance. We also offer Redpave, which is a distinctive red textured path dressing popular on many golf courses and parks.

Rockery Stone

We produce 100-200mm Gabion stone and our unique Coxwell rockery stone from our Faringdon quarry, which is available in various sizes and can be broken down so it is manageable for one or two people to manoeuvre. Whilst some boulders are rounded, others come in a variety of shapes and sizes, all of which are buff in colour. A feature of our rockery stone is its very rough, coarse surface, which weathers quickly, providing a beautifully natural finish which is not susceptible to frost. This material is stocked at our Frith End and Faringdon quarries.

Decorative Aggregates

The Grundon product range is complemented by a full line-up of boulders, chippings, beach cobbles and pebbles. The beach cobbles and pebbles are washed and screened for optimum quality. They are ideally suited for cobble walling and paving, use in water features and decorative applications in gardens and public pedestrian areas.

Our landscaping products have been used on a number of landscaping projects, including:

  • Hogarth’s House, Chiswick
  • Pinewood Studios Film Set
  • Cotswold Wildlife Park, Oxfordshire
  • Chester Zoo Thames Tow Path
  • Beale Park Wildlife Park and Gardens
