Engineering and Restoration Clays

Engineering and Restoration Clays

At our Cheltenham quarry in Gloucestershire, we produce high quality Blue Lias clay and Asdue clay. These clays are extensively used in the lining of landfill sites, construction of ponds and lakes, and engineering works.

Engineering Clay

Engineering clay is a high performance and re-worked material, which is ideal for usage in:
  • Flood defence works
  • Engineering of landfill and waste sites
  • Civil engineering works
  • Pond, lake and reservoir linings
  • Agricultural settlement ponds

Infill Restoration Clay

Infill restoration clay provides a carefully balanced permeability, and is inert and clean for the backfilling of remedial works and site restoration.

With an average plasticity index of 30% and a mean permeability of 10ˆ11 ms-1, the stable clays meet Department of Transport standards for road construction and NRA landfill engineering quality control standards.
