Dental Waste Management and Disposal

Grundon provides a total waste management service for dental practices. Our one-stop-shop collection, treatment and disposal service ensures that you are fully compliant with all current legislation and best practice guidance.

We manage all types of waste generated by dental practices including:

• Infectious waste
• Sharps waste
• Pharmaceutical waste
• Amalgam waste
• Lead foils (X-rays)
• Fixer and developer
• Mercury spillage waste
• Confidential waste
• Washroom services
• Haz-Box
• Recycling waste
• Residual waste

How can Grundon help you?

Grundon has been disposing of the dental industry’s waste for over 25 years. Throughout that time we have helped our customers to understand increasingly complicated legislation and provide guidance on current best practice.

We provide solutions for the reduction, reuse, recycling, recovery and disposal of waste, delivered via a combination of specialist services, contract management and the operation of our own facilities. We also provide you with access to our pre-acceptance audit tools free of charge.

Your Duty of Care obligations are paramount to our Dental Waste Management package. Grundon tailors a solution to suit your practice’s requirements; advising on waste segregation, recycling where possible and assisting with waste pre-acceptance audits to help you achieve CQC compliance.

In addition, we can let you know if there is any room for improvement and help with training for the correct segregation of waste. Our depots carry a full range of colour coded bag and container stocks to assist you and your staff.

Value added service

We are committed to operating our business both sustainably and responsibly. We own and operate an extensive CarbonNeutral® fleet of varied and purpose-built collection vehicles, meaning that every time one of our vehicles collects waste from your site, not only will the journey be CarbonNeutral®, but it will also avoid contributing to your own carbon footprint.

Furthermore, Grundon operates a range of state-of-the-art facilities, using the best available techniques and operating under strict Environment Agency permits, to treat and dispose of all of your waste. Our Energy from Waste facility diverts over 410,000 tonnes of general and offensive waste from landfill each year, generating enough electricity to power approximately 50,000 homes.

This facility, combined with our other innovative waste treatment and energy recovery facilities provides the dental industry with the most sustainable and environmentally friendly waste management service.
